Drawing on research into memory undertaken by Michael Pickering and Emily Keightley in the School of Social Sciences, Selected Memory troubled the opposition between memory and imagination; and explored how memories are not simply of the past, but the present and future too. Commissioned works explored the unreliability of memory, discursive techniques designed to 'jog' the memory, and the collective memories of a local amateur dramatics society.
