Artists Wesam Al Asali, FRAUD and Nastassja Simensky come together to bring a critical framing to the concept of preservation. Embracing different methodologies and spanning diverse contexts – from the Syrian conflict, to pre and postindustrial England – their practices shed light on issues of accountability, agency, power and ownership.
Questions of Value
Value, labour and economic affect interrogated through two artists' commissions.
Questions of Value developed in Spring 2013 from research being undertaken into value within School of Art's University's Politicized Practice Research Group. Drawing on investigations into the relationship between labour and value; and on debates around artistic, affective and reproductive labour, it opened up to consider artistic and affective orientations to economic crisis more broadly.
